Vehicle Overview The Envoy, like the GMC Jimmy, is a twin of the Chevrolet Blazer with a few twists. The Envoy is an upscale GMC exclusive that comes only as a four-door with luxury features such as wood interior trim, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a trip computer and a Bose sound system with a CD changer. Oldsmobile offers a model similar to the Envoy as the Bravada.
Interior The Envoy comes standard with leather seats and Zebrano wood accents. The front bucket reclining seats have four-way adjustable headrests; the driver’s seat come standard with two-position memory.
Exterior Consumers have a choice of either a liftgate that swings up or a tailgate that drops down. With either, the rear window opens separately and flips up. The spare tire is stored beneath the rear of the vehicle, which has advantages over other options but makes tire changes more awkward.
Under the Hood The Envoy comes standard with with a 190-horsepower, 4.3-liter Vortec V-6 and is the only powerplant available. A full-time 4WD automatic transmission is, again, the only available choice. The Autotrac 4WD can be locked out or locked into a low setting for off-roading.
