GM used the web to announce that the redesigned 2007 Chevy Aveo sedan is now available at dealerships, starting at $11,830 (excluding a $565 destination fee). Our man Kelsey Mays got an up-close look at the new Aveo sedan in June and said he was somewhat impressed by the mini machine.

The 103-hp economy car gets 27/37 mpg city/highway with a manual transmission and 26/34 mpg with an optional automatic. Chevrolet distinguishes itself as the only American company offering such a small vehicle. Ford and Chrysler have yet to enter the rapidly booming market that also features hot entries like the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa and Honda Fit, as well as other low cost options from Kia and Suzuki.
