It’s the end of the model year, and some vehicles just didn’t make the cut for 2007. That doesn’t necessarily make them bad cars; we guess you would just call them underappreciated. Here’s our list of 2006 models you can buy brand new today that will be gone tomorrow (or when they sell out). Some of ’em even have significant cash back.
Acura RSX: The sporty two-door is the last coupe in Acura’s lineup to say goodbye. As fine a car as it was, the RSX just couldn’t compete with Honda’s new Civic Si in the performance versus value equation. We couldn’t uncover any cash back for the RSX.
Mazda MPV: There will be no 2007 model as Mazda waits out American minivan-buying habits. If the company’s new CX-9 crossover sells well enough, the MPV may not return. The last sure bet is a new 2006 MPV with $3,500 cash back.

Pontiac SV6: There’s currently $2,000 cash back on this minivan that’s as no-frills as you can get. We don’t see 1,500 reasons why you would choose this over the Mazda MPV on your bargain bin shopping trip.

Saab 9-2X: $5,000 cash back on Saab’s version of the sporty all-wheel-drive Subaru Impreza and WRX. The Saab has a slightly nicer and quieter cabin, and with this much cash back it’s about the same price as the Subaru.

Suzuki Verona and Aerio SX: The Verona was a decent sedan offering but featured an underpowered V-6 inline six-cylinder that didn’t excite too many people. Currently there’s $1,000 cash back offered. The Aerio SX is a funky, boxed-shape compact with $1,250 cash back, but it has loyal fans. The all-new Suzuki SX4 no doubt makes it obsolete in the lineup.
