Washington State Bans Text Messaging While Driving

Distracted drivers are an increasing threat on the highways. In 2008, the state of Washington will ban text messaging or any other use of cell phones without a hands-free headset while driving. Both will garner a $101 ticket, but neither will be cause for the driver to be pulled over.

That leaves us wondering how effective the new law will be at stopping the distracting behaviors.
