2010-2013 Suzuki SX4 Ignition Issue

The problem: Starting the engine may require extended cranking and vehicles may be hard to start. This may be due to a defective engine control module that intermittently misadjusts ignition timing.

Vehicles affected by service bulletin:

  • 2010 Suzuki SX4
  • 2011 Suzuki SX4
  • 2012 Suzuki SX4
  • 2013 Suzuki SX4

Corrective action: Dealers will either replace the engine control module or update the existing module with new software.

Warranty info: This service will be performed free of charge for eight years or 100,000 miles from the date of purchase.
