While the Ford Escape remains a well-received, strong seller for Ford, the model is starting to look dated compared with new competitors from Hyundai, Kia and Chevrolet. That’s where the Ford Vertrek concept comes in. The model combines European and American design aesthetics, featuring a wider and longer body and a more fuel-efficient powertrain. This concept is about 80% of what the real Escape replacement will look like, according to Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays. Our first impressions are pretty positive.
