Cars.com's 2012 Model Year Preview

We know, we know, we’re not even halfway through 2011, but in automotive parlance it might as well be 2012. That’s because there are already 48 2012 models that have been announced or are on sale. As gas prices climb near $4 a gallon, automakers look almost prescient, as many of the vehicles on the list can deliver around 40 mpg on the highway. Besides new high-efficiency vehicles from carmakers like Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia and Volkswagen, there are also new mega-luxury vehicles to gawk at, including a redesigned Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and BMW 6 Series.
