CARS.COM — Vehicles affected by service bulletin:

  • 2012 Volkswagen Golf
  • 2012 Volkswagen Jetta
  • 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

All equipped with 2.0-liter diesel engine.

The problem: Vehicles may display a lit Check Engine light due to a glitch in the engine control module software, causing the onboard diagnostic strategy to be too sensitive.

Corrective action: Dealers will update the ECM software with a new program that eliminates this condition.

Warranty info: This service bulletin will be performed free of charge under the extended or federal emissions warranty, whichever applies.
