Kia gave the Sorento a more sophisticated look and a new powertrain to go along with it when the updated-for-2014 midsize crossover bowed this week at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. With a wider, lower stance and new silver- or black-mesh finishes on the grille, along with LED-accented headlights and optional 19-inch wheels, the new Sorento borrows its aggressive design cues from its corporate cousin, the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Standard on all the Sorento’s higher trims is a 290-horsepower, 3.3-liter V-6 with direct injection and a six-speed automatic transmission. Also brand new for 2014 is the topline SX trim with a host of exterior and interior upgrades. Check out more pictures below.
