The Problem: The outboard steering linkage jam nut may loosen, allowing one end of the drag links to separate, potentially causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will check the steering linkage and replace the drag link assembly or weld the nut to the adjuster sleeve for free.
What Owners Should Do:Ram parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Aug. 14. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
