Vehicles Affected: Approximately 13,000 model-year 2013-18 Audi A8 and S8 sedans

The Problem: The seal around the engine compartment may come loose and contact hot engine components, increasing the risk of a fire.

The Fix: Dealers will install a retaining plate to prevent the engine compartment seal from loosening, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Audi manufacturer Volkswagen will begin notifying owners Sept. 4. Owners can call Audi at 800-253-2834, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
