Land Rover Shows Off New Range Rover Models at 2013 L.A. Auto Show
Land Rover is offering a more versatile and even more luxurious version of its Range Rover SUV for 2014. The Range Rover Long-Wheelbase and Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black editions were unveiled today at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Range Rover Long-Wheelbase offers an additional 7.3 inches of rear legroom, and when equipped with the optional Executive Seating Package, it has an increased seatback recline of 17 degrees — 8 degrees more than the standard wheelbase model. Standard on all long-wheelbase models are power door blinds and a panoramic sunroof. Aside from the added length, an “L” badge on the door trims distinguishes the new model.

Land Rover calls the Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black edition its “new ultra-luxury flagship,” and it includes everything but the kitchen sink. Aside from the additional legroom, the model offers reclining, extending and massage-equipped seats (pictured above). Backseat passengers are also treated to configurable LED mood lighting, a drink chiller compartment, dual 10.2-inch rear entertainment screens and a center console that electrically deploys leather-covered tables with integrated USB charging ports and cupholders.
Outside, the Autobiography Black version is distinguished by black enamel badges and additional chrome trim around the vents and headlights. It also rides on exclusive seven-spoke 21-inch high-gloss wheels.
The Long-Wheelbase model will be available in Supercharged and Autobiography trim levels; both versions will go on sale early next year. The 2014 LWB Supercharged model starts at $106,195, around $6,000 more than short-wheelbase Supercharged models.
Land Rover calls the 2014 Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black a “new offering to meet growing demand for an ultra-luxury edition of the Range Rover,” but it’s not targeting many customers. The 2014 model starts at $185,000 and is a limited edition; only 100 units are planned for the U.S. market (all prices include an $895 destination fee).
