2014-2019 BMW M6 Gran Coupe: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,700 model-year 2014-19 BMW M6 Gran Coupe cars
The Problem: The third brake light may become loose and allow the light to detach from the car, no longer providing the required lighting to following traffic or becoming a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the third brake light and properly secure it with new fasteners. If the third brake light detached from the car and is damaged, it will be replaced. Both repairs will be done for free.
What Owners Should Do: BMW will begin notifying owners April 13. BMW owners can call the automaker at 800-525-7417, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
