2014 Jeep Cherokee: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 81,000 model-year 2014 Jeep Cherokee SUVs equipped with 3.2-liter engines

The Problem: If a clutch becomes stuck in the transmission, the transmission software may unexpectedly shift the transmission to Neutral, resulting in a loss of drive and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will update the transmission software for free.

What Owners Should Do: Jeep manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Aug. 2. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
