The S6 is the muscle car of the A6 line, highlighted by its 4.0-liter V-8 engine with twin turbochargers. The V-8 makes 450 hp for 2016, an increase of 30 hp. The engine teams with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard.

The Audi A6 midsize luxury sedan is available with front- or all-wheel drive and a range of engines: a turbocharged four-cylinder, supercharged V-6 or turbo-diesel V-6. Competitors include the BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS, Jaguar XF and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. A related S6 performance version comes with a 450-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V-8.
New for 2016
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder has been revamped and now produces 252 hp (up from 220 hp). The supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 now makes 333 hp, up from 310 hp. New LED headlights, taillights, and front and rear design cues update the A6’s appearance while night vision with animal detection and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality have been added to the Driver Assistance Package. The Audi Connect information system now has 4G LTE connectivity and can act as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
