CARS.COM — Dodge has announced the changes to the 2018 Durango SUV lineup, with more standard features and aggressive SRT styling making its way down to R/T models.

The aggressive Durango SRT took home our Best in Show award at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show earlier this year for its mix of performance and style, while still maintaining practicality. R/T models won’t get the SRT’s big 6.4-liter V-8, but they will get the SRT’s front styling, which includes a more aggressive front bumper with larger air inlets and most notably, the performance hood. The hood isn’t just for looks: The ducting and openings are functional, with a prominent hood scoop flanked by a pair of heat extractors.
Prices haven’t been announced yet, but it should represent a nice savings for buyers who want the SRT look without the SRT performance premium. For example, the 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 starts at $11,200 more than R/T 392’s $40,090, which includes a destination charge and gas-guzzler tax.
The performance hood will also be available on GT models equipped with the Blacktop or Brass Monkey Appearance Package.
R/T models also add standard features for 2018, including front park assist and a BeatsAudio nine-speaker audio system. It will also be offered in B5 Blue paint, one of only two models offered in that color (alongside the SRT). The Durango GT adds a standard power liftgate and Capri/suede bucket leather seats.
There are also a few slight changes across the Durango lineup. Each model now features a standard backup camera, sport steering wheel and an electronic T-shifter.
The 2018 Durango will arrive at dealerships this fall. Dodge says pricing information will be announced closer to that time.
