Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,600 model-year 2019 Ford Fiesta hatchbacks and sedans

The Problem: Brake calipers could develop a leak after being exposed to incorrectly labeled assembly fluid in production. This could eventually result in reduced braking function or drag, leading to overheating brake pads and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will flush the brake fluid and replace the front brake calipers and brake lines for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ford did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can the automaker at 800-392-3673, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
