Vehicles Affected: Approximately 25,000 model-year 2019 Mazda3 hatchbacks and sedans

The Problem: The lug nuts on all four wheels may loosen, potentially resulting in a wheel detaching from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will tighten the front- and rear-wheel lug nuts to the correct specification for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mazda will begin notifying owners no later than Aug 6. Owners can call the automaker at 800-222-5500, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
