Vehicles Affected: Approximately 700 model-year 2019 Toyota Camry sedans
The Problem: The occupant classification system may have been improperly calibrated, which may prevent the proper deployment of the front passenger airbag and knee airbag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The Fix: Dealers will recalibrate the occupant classification system for free.
What Owners Should Do: Toyota will begin notifying owners Aug. 15. Owners can call Toyota at 888-270-9371, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
