2019 Toyota Sienna: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 270 model-year 2019 Toyota Sienna minivans
The Problem: The passenger front door may have incorrect welds inside, possibly affecting the airbag sensor readings for the passenger-side front seat and curtain shield airbags. The incorrect airbag sensor readings could cause the affected airbags to unintentionally deploy or not deploy when intended, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the passenger-side front door subassembly with a new one for free.
What Owners Should Do: Toyota will begin notifying owners June 10. Owners can call the automaker at 888-270-9371, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
