Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,000 model-year 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchbacks

The Problem: A connector in the rear hatch may have been damaged during production, which could cause the backup lamps to become inoperative over time, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the rear hatch wire harness with a new one for free.

What Owners Should Do: Toyota will begin notifying owners in early June. Owners can call Toyota at 800-331-4331, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
