Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,800 model-year 2020 Volkswagen Passat sedans
The Problem: The passenger frontal airbag may have been folded incorrectly, affecting its deployment force and increasing the risk of injury.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag for free.
What Owners Should Do: VW will begin notifying owners Oct. 30. Owners can call the automaker at 888-241-2289, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
