When Toyota launched the latest generation of its RAV4 Hybrid, the automaker called it the most powerful version of the compact SUV. Well, that’s now being trumped by a plug-in hybrid version of the RAV4. Toyota announced today that the RAV4 PHV will make its debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Toyota didn’t release details aside from a teaser pic of the vehicle, which wears blue badging similar to the regular hybrid model; the new PHV is also dressed in a new color: Supersonic Red.

Although Toyota isn’t talking specs, we expect the PHV to deliver some impressive mileage. The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid gets an EPA estimated rating of 41/38/40 mpg city/highway/combined.

The 2021 RAV4 PHV will be unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show on Nov. 20. Check back here for more information then.
