2022 Infiniti QX80 Finally Gets the Updated Interior It Needed
The 2022 Infiniti QX80 will go on sale in the fall with one major, much-needed change: a modern center control panel with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. The new display and controls appear to mimic those of the Nissan Armada, with which the QX80 shares its underpinnings. More importantly, it replaces an aging dual-screen system and jumbled controls that left the QX80 lagging behind its luxury competitors and even the more affordable Armada.

Major Upgrade
The display is standard on all three trim levels of the QX80 — Luxe, Premium Select and Sensory — and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto compatibility. Widescreen, built-in navigation is also standard. Additional added technology includes a standard wireless smartphone charger and premium Bose stereo system.
The previous dual-display system and controls were one of our main issues with the 2021 QX80. It had aging graphics and a confusing layout, and felt entirely out of place in a luxury SUV with a price that can eclipse $85,000. To rub salt in the wound, Infiniti parent company Nissan had already replaced the same system in the Armada, the QX80’s more affordable mainstream cousin. QX80 buyers could pay tens of thousands of dollars more for the same SUV that had nicer interior materials but technology that was far worse. The new system isn’t perfect, but it is a vast improvement.
Otherwise, Infiniti isn’t updating the exterior styling, internal body structure or powertrain of the QX80. It’s still a big, body-on-frame, three-row SUV with standard rear- or optional four-wheel drive.
Pricing and Release Date
The brand says the QX80 will go on sale later in the fall. Prices increase over the 2021 model, and full pricing (including a $1,395 destination fee) is below:
- 2022 Infiniti QX80 Luxe RWD: $71,995 ($1,450 increase)
- 2022 Infiniti QX80 Premium Select RWD: $76,780 ($1,935 increase)
- 2022 Infiniti QX80 Sensory RWD: $83,630 ($1,935 increase)
4WD is available on all trim levels for an additional $3,100.
