2024 Acura MDX: Steady as She Goes, Price Starts at $51,045
Two years after its last major overhaul for the 2022 model year, the Acura MDX is settling comfortably into the automotive equivalent of middle age. The 2024 model is unchanged, and pricing crawls up just $300 across the board.

A 3.5-liter V-6 making 290 horsepower and 267 pounds-feet of torque is still the base engine in the MDX, while the Type S gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 making 355 hp and 354 pounds feet. Both are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive adds $2,200 to the base and Technology Package variants. The A-Spec, Advance Package and Type S are only available with AWD.
FWD MDXs are EPA-rated at 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined, while AWD drops those figures to 19/25/21. The Type S is rated 17/21/19 mpg.
Pricing and Trim Levels
Acura offers the three-row, seven-passenger SUV in base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, Type S and Type S Advance variants. The Technology Package is available on both FWD and AWD MDXs, and the A-Spec and Type S can be had either with or without the Advance Package. Full pricing, including $1,195 for delivery, is as follows:
- Base: $51,045
- Technology Package: $55,745
- A-Spec: $61,445
- Advance Package: $64,995
- Type S: $69,345
- Type S Advance Package: $74,695
The base MDX rolls on 19-inch wheels and features LED exterior lighting. It has a panoramic moonroof, tri-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats and ambient lighting. There’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and another 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, which features nine speakers, Bluetooth, and HD and satellite radio, as well as wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa and phone charging. Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Technology Package adds navigation, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, perforated leather seats with contrast stitching, and 27-color ambient lighting. This variant is fitted with 20-inch wheels and front and rear parking sensors.
The A-Spec gets unique 20-inch wheels and a Sport Appearance Package that features blacked-out exterior trim. Inside, the A-Spec has faux-suede seat trim, a 16-speaker ELS audio system, ventilated front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and metal accelerator and brake pedals. Step up to the Advance Package for all of that plus a 360-degree parking camera, head-up display, heated outboard second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, additional front-seat adjustability, open-pore wood trim and 20-inch wheels.
In addition to its more powerful engine, the Type S includes an adaptive air suspension, Brembo front brake calipers behind 21-inch wheels, and unique styling inside and out. Add the Advance Package to the Type S to get the most MDX anyone can.
