2025 Chevrolet Corvette Biding Time Until ZR1 Debuts

It’s a slow year for Corvette fans — well, aside from the launch of the ZR1 come summer 2024, it’s a slow year. In other words, it’s a fantastic year, a once-in-a-(Corvette)-generation thriller. Chevy is keeping a tight lid on ZR1 specs until the car’s debut, with the only official word on it so far a teaser video high on dramatic music and woefully short on revving engines that concludes with the words, “The unthinkable is coming this summer.”

The current-generation Corvette is the first mid-engine production car in the model’s history, the E-Ray is an all-wheel-drive hybrid, and the Z06 starts above $100,000, all of which were once unthinkable — so the bar is pretty high for the ZR1 to be unthinkable. Speculation already pegs the ZR1’s output north of 800 horsepower, so unless the final output is beyond 900 hp, that’s not unthinkable. In fact, now that we’ve thought it, 900 hp isn’t unthinkable, either.

Scraps for the Proles

Regardless, we have to wait a few months for any Corvette news of note. In the meantime, the rest of the Corvette lineup — Stingray, E-Ray and Z06 — receives the smallest of updates for the 2025 model year. There are a pair of new paint colors, Competition Yellow and Hysteria Purple, as well as a new interior color called Habanero. Chevy hasn’t specified what the shade is, but the company previously released an image of a Silverado EV in an orangish-red also called Habanero. Additionally, black interiors are now available with blue stitching.

The Stingray and Z06 get minor exterior trim updates to help keen-eyed spotters nail their model year. The Stingray’s optional Z51 performance package gets a new spoiler for 2025, and Z06 buyers have a new 10-spoke wheel choice in four finishes: gloss black, pearl nickel, polished, and polished with black painted pockets.

Pricing for the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette will be available at a later date.
