After debuting the face-lifted Model Y with the Launch Series earlier this year, Tesla has now released the regular-production vehicle. Currently only available in Long-Range All-Wheel Drive form, the Model Y version now on sale is basically the Launch Series for $11,000 less; pricing starts at $50,380 (price includes $1,390 destination charge).
To recap, Tesla thoroughly reworked the electric SUV in pursuit of lower noise levels in the cabin, improved ride comfort and greater efficiency. Our first drive suggests that the brand hit these targets, although the interior design is growing a bit stale.
What Are the 2026 Model Y’s Specs and Range?
Tesla still hasn’t released the output of the AWD Model Y’s electric motors, but it claims the SUV will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds (the refreshed EV did feel somewhat quicker in our first encounter). The brand quotes a range of 327 miles for the face-lifted car, an improvement of 17 miles over the 2024 model’s EPA estimate.
What Features Does the 2026 Model Y Have?
While the regular-production Model Y stickers $11,000 lower than the Launch Series, the only real difference between the two is that the model now on sale doesn’t wear a Launch Series badge on the liftgate. The Launch Series included Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) tech as standard equipment and offered buyers a towing package as a no-cost option; those features cost $8,000 and $1,000, respectively, on the Model Y Long-Range AWD variant.
Otherwise, the 2026 Model Y is generously equipped. Standard equipment includes 19-inch wheels, a fixed panoramic glass roof and a hands-free power liftgate. Tesla says a third-row seat will be an option at a later date, but for now, the Model Y is strictly a five-seater, with heated front and rear seats, as well as power adjustability and ventilation for the front. It also boasts a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a 15.4-inch touchscreen in the front row, an 8-inch display for rear-seat passengers and a 15-speaker sound system.
Even without Full Self-Driving, every 2026 Model Y still includes Autopilot hands-on semi-autonomous driving, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitors, lane departure steering assist and a dash cam.
