2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition Adds Sporty Looks (And That’s It)

If you’re looking for a little more visual flair on a practical Toyota Corolla Hatchback, you may want to look for one of the limited-edition FX Edition variants coming for the 2026 model year. The Corolla Hatchback joins its sedan counterpart in getting the limited-edition trim, with only 1,600 of them made.

What Does the Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition Include?
With the Corolla sedan’s FX trim getting some mild retuning, you might be expecting some performance tweaks on the Corolla Hatchback FX Edition, which is named for the fun Corolla FX16 hot hatch of the ‘80s. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here, as the new FX Edition is primarily an appearance package. It’s powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the rest of the Corolla Hatchback lineup, which is good for 169 horsepower and 151 pounds-feet of torque and is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. (The Toyota GR Corolla is still there for you if you need a true hot hatch, though.)
The Corolla Hatchback FX Edition will look cool, though. It is based on the Corolla Hatchback’s base SE trim and adds 18-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss white, black lug nuts, a black vented rear wing (which Toyota claims improves the hatch’s aerodynamics), a black interior with orange stitching and well-bolstered sport seats with suede inserts. The FX Edition also adds the customizable 7-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless phone charging pad from the top XSE trim. It’s available in three exterior colors: Ice Cap (white), Inferno (orange) and Blue Crush Metallic (blue). Throwback-style badging on the rear hatch recalls the FX16’s era and adds another special touch.

Just because it’s based on the SE doesn’t make the FX an otherwise bare-bones trim, as the SE comes with LED exterior lighting, automatic climate control, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As with the other Corolla Hatchback trims, the FX Edition includes the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver assists, including forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, lane-centering steering and automatic high beams.
Additionally, Toyota claims the new FX Edition will get 33 mpg combined, which puts it right in line with the EPA ratings for the other trims with 18-inch wheels, which get 30/38/33 mpg city/highway/combined.
What Is the 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX Edition’s Release Date and Pricing?
The new Corolla Hatchback FX Edition will arrive in dealerships in fall 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to the 2026 Corolla Hatchback on-sale date.
