Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-25 Navigator full-size SUVs, model-year 2024-25 Nautilus mid-size SUVs, and model-year 2025 Aviator and Explorer mid-size SUVs. The Image Processing Module A software in affected vehicles may reset without notice, resulting in a loss of the rearview camera image and some driver-assistance features, including lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitoring, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. An absent rearview camera image and a loss of such driver-assistance features both increase the risk of a crash.

To resolve the issue, the IPMA software can be updated by a dealer or via an over-the-air update for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 30; in the meantime, owners with further questions may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 (the automaker’s number for this recall is 26S21), the National Traffic Safety Administration vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
