Parent automaker Stellantis is recalling more than 74,500 examples of its Dodge Durango SUV over an issue with the rear spoiler, which may detach.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2021-23 Durangos. The rear spoiler on affected vehicles may be misaligned with the roof, causing damage to the spoiler during liftgate use. A damaged rear spoiler may detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy is currently under development. This recall includes Durangos that were part of a previous recall in 2023; those vehicles will need to have the new remedy completed when it becomes available. Letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed Sept. 10, but those with further questions can contact Stellantis at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is 61D), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
