86,000-Plus Ford Mustang Mach-E SUVs Recalled for Detaching Window Trim
In addition to a recall for some 47,000 F-Series pickup trucks, Ford today is also recalling more than 86,500 examples of its Mustang Mach-E electric SUV over an issue with the rear window trim, which may not be properly attached.
Related: More Recall News Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-25 Mustang Mach-Es. The trim pieces around the rear side quarter windows may not be properly secured, allowing them to loosen and fall off the vehicle. Detached trim pieces can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the rear quarter window glass assemblies, as necessary, for free. Interim owner notifications letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 10; additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
