98,000-Plus Rivian EVs Recalled for Rearview Cameras
Electric-vehicle maker Rivian is recalling more than 98,800 examples of its R1S, R1T and R2 EVs over an issue with the rearview camera.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-26 R1S SUVs, model-year 2022-27 R1T trucks and model-year 2027 R2 SUVs. When in Reverse, the rearview camera image may be obstructed by a notification, decreasing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, Rivian has issued an over-the-air software update for free. Rivian will begin notifying owners Nov. 9; those with further questions can contact the automaker at 888-748-4261 (Rivian’s number for this recall is FSAM-1866), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
