All-Electric Fiat 500e Debuts in L.A., U.S. Arrival Slated for 2024
If you haven’t spotted many Fiats in the wild in recent years, it’s because there is only one new model currently sold in the U.S.: the 500X subcompact SUV. Despite the limited offering, the brand insists it’s not giving up on the U.S. market, as it plans to reintroduce an all-electric Fiat 500e hatchback in early 2024. To announce the electric vehicle’s future arrival, Fiat is bringing three European-based models to the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. In a nod to the brand’s Italian roots, the trio features styling from high-profile Italian designers: Georgio Armani, Bvlgari and Kartell.

The exterior of the new 500e doesn’t stray far from the subcompact two-door 500 hatchback formerly offered stateside. To highlight Fiat’s sustainability goals with the upcoming 500e, each version incorporates eco-friendly styling elements from its respective designer such as sustainable exterior paint and recycled materials used for the upholstery and interior trim.
Shoppers looking for more details about the EV’s powertrain, performance, range and charging will need to wait a while — a year to be exact. Fiat will officially reveal the U.S. version of the 500e at the 2023 L.A. Auto Show and notes the 500e is expected to arrive at North American dealerships by early 2024.
The 500X SUV is currently available with a gas-only powertrain: a 177-horsepower, turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The 2022 500X starts at $29,560 (including destination).
