Small Cars Selling Big

CNBC timed an article this morning about new small car models like the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit and Dodge Caliber pretty well. Most major manufacturers announced their May sales today, and all three of those cars did well. Analysts point to high gas prices as the main reason these models are generating so much interest, but the solid feel of the cars and their numerous standard features — matched to a low price — don’t hurt either.

May sales:

  • Dodge Caliber: 12,422
  • Toyota Yaris: 8,065
  • Honda Fit: 5,248
