Chevy is teaming up with Wired magazine in a contest that will put four people behind the wheel of a Chevy Volt months ahead of its debut.

To participate, you need to make a two-minute video explaining how you use technology to minimize your carbon footprint. Those sharp enough to impress the magazine and automaker will fly to Detroit on July 13 to test the Volt for two days. The winners will tweet about their experience and write a full review of the new plug-in hybrid that may be published on Wired.com.

Some basic rules apply. You must be at least 18 and have a driver’s license, and don’t bother to apply if you work for an automaker, dealership or parts supplier (thus preventing Nissan executives from tweeting “Voltsucks! Leaf4ever!”).

Post your video on YouTube by May 15 and send Wired the link, along with a few brief paragraphs about yourself. Three winners will be picked by the magazine and one by readers, all to be announced June 7. Head to the link below for that all-expenses-paid trip to Detroit.
