How Much Cargo Space Does the 2027 Kia Telluride Have?
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- Kia says the 2027 Telluride has 22.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats, but according to com’s real-world cargo-space measurements, the figure is just 11.7 cubic feet.
- Kia’s measurement behind the second row is 48.7 cubic feet, but we get 25.9 cubic feet.
- Drivers can open up even more room by folding down the second-row seats.
Families buy three-row SUVs so they can haul the family and the family’s stuff at the same time. These vehicles are big boxes on wheels that provide immense utility. But the addition of a third row often means cargo capacity behind that row can be quite small. That space opens up when the third row is folded, but if you need to tote around half of the soccer team and their equipment, you’ll want more room back there.
Luckily, Cars.com can help. We don’t just take the manufacturers’ word for it on cargo space; we measure that space ourselves. We recently measured the 2027 Kia Telluride, and below, we compare it to the other three-row mid-size SUVs on the market.

How Does the 2027 Kia Telluride’s Cargo Space Compare With Other Three-Row SUVs?
Automakers measure their vehicles and quote cargo-space figures, but we find that those measurements usually don’t reflect real-world use, and sometimes they can exaggerate space based on manipulating seating positions. With that in mind, we developed our own methodology for measuring cargo volume.
According to Kia’s measurements, the 2027 Telluride offers 22.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, while our measurement comes in at 11.7 cubic feet. Kia’s measurement behind the second row is 48.7 cubic feet, but we get 25.9 cubic feet.
Our numbers are smaller, but the Telluride’s cargo space comes in third among mid-size SUVs we’ve recently measured. That may not be enough to convince you to buy it, but it shouldn’t be a deterrent, either. The chart below shows how the Telluride compares to the vehicles we’ve measured. To place the Telluride on the broader spectrum of vehicle classes, check out the full list of vehicles we’ve measured here.
