How Much Is the 2027 Kia EV3?

Despite an overall industry pullback in electrification, Kia is pushing forward with electric vehicles. The automaker has offered and continues to sell the EV6 crossover and the EV9 three-row SUV, and it’s now adding a third EV to its lineup in the form of the EV3 compact SUV. Slightly shorter in both height and length than the Seltos, the EV3 will serve as the entry to Kia’s electric lineup.

Release Date and Pricing
The 2027 Kia EV3 should start arriving at dealers soon. Full pricing is as follows:
- Light: $31,385
- Wind: $36,485
- Land: $39,985
- GT-Line: $44,985
- GT: $47,385
Powertrains and Range
Kia is offering the EV3 with two battery sizes with either single-motor front- or dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Light trim comes equipped with a 58.3-kilowatt-hour battery and a single-motor setup that gives it 201 horsepower and 221 miles of driving range. All other EV3 trims get an 81.4-kWh battery, but power and range vary based on the trim. The FWD Wind and Land both make the same 201 hp as the base Light trim but get 321 miles of range and are available with a dual-motor setup that gives them both AWD. GT-Line and GT trims get more power but slightly less range. The EV3 GT-Line gets a dual-motor setup with 261 hp and 280 miles of range. The most powerful EV3 is the GT, which gets 288 hp and 280 miles of range.
Each trim is decently quick but not as blistering fast as some other EVs. Kia says 0-60 mph times vary depending on trim but range from as slow as 7.3 seconds on the EV3 Wind to 5.4 seconds on the GT. Charging the EV3 shouldn’t be as hassle, as Kia’s 400-volt architecture allows the EV3 to be charged from 10%-80% in as little as 29 minutes. This is enhanced by standard North American Charging Standard ports on all trims.

When putting the EV3 up against competition that starts at or under $40,000 from Chevrolet, Nissan, Tesla and Volvo, things get interesting. The EV3’s base price of just over $31,000 makes it the second cheapest new EV on the market, right behind the Chevrolet Bolt. Range, however, seems to be the worst of all competitors, at least on the base trim. At 221 miles, the EV3 Light has the lowest starting range out of any of its competitors; to get comparable range or over 300 miles of range, you have to get the EV3 Wind. The Wind’s 321 miles of range and $36,485 starting price nearly lines up with the standard version of the Tesla Model 3. With an attractive starting price, the EV3 should appear on many buyers’ radar looking for something affordable. The downside is that you have to spend more to get range that’s comparable or slightly more than some other competitors.
Standard Features and Options
Kia packs in the value in most of its vehicles, and the EV3 is no different. The base Light trim comes standard with features such as dual 12.3-inch digital displays, a charging cable, a suite of driver-safety and assistance aids, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system and five USB ports.
The Wind expands on that by coming with standard features like heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, wireless phone charger and auto-extending door handles that go flush when the EV3 is locked. This trim is also when option packages start to become available: The Wind gets the availability of two blackout packages called Nightfall that equip the EV3 with various blacked-out trimmings, such as the roof rails and wheels. The EV3 Land builds on the other two trims with standard features such as 19-inch gloss-black wheels, a power moonroof, ventilated front seats and dark interior trim.
The GT-Line adds sporty styling elements like trim-specific styling on the exterior and dynamic welcome lighting. Inside, there’s unique two-tone trim, a special three-spoke steering wheel and an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. The top-spec GT trim builds on the GT-Line and comes with GT-specific styling elements like neon-green trim on the brake calipers and dynamic welcome lighting. Inside, there’s more neon-green trim on the seats and seat belts, a 12-inch head-up display, stainless-steel sport pedals and ambient interior lighting. The GT also gets a special “GT” drive mode as well as a sport-tuned suspension.
