The Genesis “dress for the job you want” GV80 rolls into 2024 as confident as ever. Ignoring critics who don’t think Hyundai-Kia can turn out a proper luxury car, the Prestige Signature trim rejoins the lineup with just four power-adjustable seats — like a Rolls-Royce Cullinan — trimmed in available two-tone leather. A Wi-Fi hot spot is now standard, and following 2023’s transition to an exclusively all-wheel-drive lineup, the available interior and exterior color palettes have been trimmed.

The standard engine remains a 300-horsepower, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 making 375 hp available for $7,150-$8,000, depending on trim package. Both are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. As for fuel economy, the four-cylinder engine gets an EPA-rated 20/24/22 mpg city/highway/combined, and the V-6 is rated at 18/23/20 mpg. Either engine gives buyers the choice of Standard, Advanced and Prestige trim packages; the V-6 is also available with Prestige Matte (with matte white, gray or green paint) and Prestige Signature variants.

2.5T Trim Packages

Starting at $58,575 (including destination), the 2.5T Standard includes 19-inch wheels, synthetic leather seats, heated power front seats, a heated power tilting and telescoping steering wheel, matte-finish wood trim, wireless smartphone charging, a power liftgate with hands-free opening, and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen with navigation, satellite and HD radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, active blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, and front and rear parking sensors. Also standard is Genesis’s Highway Driving Assist II, which combines adaptive cruise control with automatic lane centering for a degree of hands-free driving and automated lane changes.

Moving up to the Advanced adds 20-inch wheels, a panoramic moonroof, leather seats (heated and ventilated in front), a Lexicon 21-speaker audio system, a 360-degree camera system and blind spot cameras that display in the instrument cluster. Remote Smart Parking Assist — which automatically parks the GV80 with the driver in or out of the vehicle — and automatic braking should you wish to park yourself but get too close to anything also come with the Advanced.

The Prestige builds on the Advanced and adds 22-inch wheels, a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a head-up display, three-zone climate control with heated second-row seats, active noise cancellation, and adjustable thigh support and side bolsters for the driver’s seat.

3.5T Trim Packages

Along with the more powerful engine, the 3.5T Standard adds 20-inch wheels, a panoramic moonroof, and heated and ventilated front seats. GV80s with the V-6 outpace the 2.5T throughout the trim progression, adding three-zone climate with heated second-row seats at the Advanced level along with the additional driver’s-seat adjustments. The 3.5T Prestige adds soft-close doors, quilted Nappa leather, a suede headliner, and power adjustable and ventilated outboard second-row seats. For 2024, the 3.5T Advanced also gets a tire mobility kit and power-folding third-row seats, while the Prestige variants lose the power-folding third row.

In addition to the luxurious four-spot seating, the Prestige Signature gets exclusive 22-inch wheels, dark-chrome exterior trim and an additional wireless phone charger for rear passengers — and, of course, all of the fanciest equipment from the lesser trims.
