MDX Got Next: Acura Previews Next-Gen MDX SUV


On the heels of the redesigned 2021 Acura TLX, Honda’s luxury brand is pivoting from sedans to SUVs with the reveal of the next generation of its MDX SUV. Acura released a prototype image of the redesigned three-row SUV and said that the fourth generation of the MDX will deliver new levels of design, performance, technology and craftsmanship.

Few details were released, but from the teaser image unveiled today, it looks like the new model is wider, lower and longer with a more sculpted body and expressive face. The MDX was last redesigned for model-year 2014 and got a light update for 2017; a limited-run PMC Edition joined the lineup for 2020.
The redesign is a big move for Acura. The MDX is the brand’s bestselling vehicle, with 1 million units sold since its debut more than 20 years ago. We’ll know more after the prototype debuts on Oct. 14. Stay tuned.
