Tip No. 1 to Mercury: When introducing a new designer trim level with a name as odd as Voga, please tell us what the name is about. In the second paragraph of the press release about this limited-edition trim level, which will first be offered in the Mariner SUV in early 2008, Ford says Voga is “Literally translated as ‘fashionable and trend-setting,’” but doesn’t say what it’s translated from.
A minute on Google reveals it’s an Italian word, but doesn’t say why it appears in all uppercase on the car. Oh yeah, the car. The Voga Mariner comes with chrome wheels, a chrome grille, specially stitched leather seats and a dash done in tarragon-colored metallic paint. We’d guess that’s a green.
Otherwise, the Mariner Voga comes similarly equipped to the Mariner Premiere trim level. No pricing was announced, and we’d guess a Milan Voga is in the works. A few more pictures are below.
