CARS.COM — Just as Chrysler readies to release an all-new hybrid version of its Pacifica minivan to dealerships, the automaker is already starting to spark interest in an all-electric model. According to Bloomberg, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is planning to reveal a fully electric vehicle based on the Pacifica next month at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas.
Citing unnamed sources knowledgeable about the plans, Bloomberg said FCA also is working on an electric Maserati sports car intended to compete with Tesla. The announcement is not an unwelcome one here at Cars.com, as the Pacifica won our Ultimate Minivan Challenge 2016 and the hybrid version impressed one of our reviewers on a recent First Drive.
