CARS.COM — The next generation of Rolls-Royce’s flagship Phantom debuts next week, and the brand just dropped a teaser image of the new car, depicting a murky profile of its hood lit by LED headlights. Aside from adding a few new models to the range, the Phantom hasn’t seen a major update since the 2003 model year.

The new sedan will join eight of the rarest versions of the Phantom — including Queen Elizabeth II’s Phantom VI State Limousine — at an exhibition next week to mark the debut of the eighth-generation Phantom.
Rolls-Royce will unveil the new Phantom on July 27, streaming it live at www.greatphantoms.com. It will join the others at the Great Eight Phantoms’ Exhibition at Bonhams auction house in London later that week, so stay tuned. The new Phantom goes on sale next year.
Hellbent on finding a journalism job after earning an English degree from DePaul University, I stumbled into the automotive industry in 2003 — much to the delight of my Corvette-obsessed dad. After working as an editor at Consumer Guide Automotive for several years, I joined Cars.com in 2011 and am currently an expert reviewer, certified car-seat technician and mom of three. I wear a lot of hats — many of them while driving a minivan. My first car was a 1994 Mercury Tracer, and I currently drive a 2012 Mazda5.
