RVs Still Hot for Summer

We don’t often spend much time thinking about RVs, unless we’re stuck behind one on the freeway. Still, mobile recreation vehicles are a part of modern Americana, and believe it or not sales and rentals are up this year. Sales of RVs are up 2%, while rentals are up 4%, and neither is necessarily cheap. Renting a standard RV can cost more than $1,000 a week, while purchasing a new RV can cost upward of $100,000.

Sales were down last year, but the industry has absorbed fluctuating gas prices. One interesting anecdote came from a large RV rental company that said nearly half of its customers are foreign travelers.
