We’ve been waiting for Tesla’s SUV for quite some time — the automaker originally predicted a late-2014 on-sale date. Forbes is reporting that Model X deliveries will finally begin in the next three to four months. CEO Elon Musk told shareholders at their annual meeting on Tuesday that he’s finalizing Model X production details and fine-tuning some of its features — like its Falcon-Wing rear-door structure — and that the SUV “may arguably be a better SUV than the Model S is a sedan.”

The Model X will be produced in Tesla’s Fremont, Calif., facility, and Musk told shareholders that updates to the body production line mean more automation and greater flexibility. He expects the line to be around three times more productive.

No word yet on pricing for the Model X, but when it was announced in 2012, Tesla said it would cost roughly the same as a base Model S, which starts at $71,070, including destination.
