A new Toyota RAV4 may not generate the sort of visceral excitement of the GR Corolla or Land Cruiser, but the automaker’s compact SUV vastly outsells those niche products. Certainly, that new-car joy and pride of ownership spread over nearly half a million annual buyers adds up to at least a similar level of total anticipation — or would, if someone would just come up with a means of quantifying excitement within a population.
Toyota is doing its best to build anticipation for the new RAV4, releasing a second trio of teaser photos. Where the first set were bird’s-eye overhead shots, this group is a selection of tightly cropped close-ups. We see an upright rear window, an aggressive all-terrain tire and a rugged, angular front bumper. Taken together, the three suggest the new RAV4 will perhaps channel the bold styling of Toyota’s larger 4Runner and Land Cruiser SUVs.
We won’t have to wait long to find out. Toyota will reveal the 2026 RAV4 Tuesday. Stay tuned for more details.
