Track Recalls on Your Cell Phone
The app could come in handy when you’re shopping for a used/new car, child-safety seat or tires. It allows you to monitor product recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as well as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Food and Drug Administration and Department of Agriculture.
The app is free to download and use. The one downside is it’s available only on Android phones, which we find strange because other government apps are available on the iPhone. Since the app is not in the Android App Market, you’ll need to enable Unknown Sources (in the phone’s application settings) to install it.
