Volkswagen Unveils Starting Price, New Interiors for 2025 ID. Buzz

Volkswagen has been trickling out details on the upcoming all-electric ID. Buzz for more than two years now — perhaps the name was a hint at the brand’s plans for a drawn-out introduction. Finally, like a cartoon spigot bulging behind a clog, the company has spat out more juicy tidbits on its reincarnated Microbus: its pricing. With a manufacturer-estimated range of 234 miles with rear-wheel drive and 231 with all-wheel drive, the ID. Buzz will start at $61,545 (all prices include $1,550 destination).

That starting price is for the entry-level ID. Buzz Pro S, which is only available with rear-drive. The mid-level Pro S Plus stickers for $65,045, and the 2025-only 1st Edition costs $67,045. AWD is optional on the Pro S Plus and 1st Edition for an additional $4,500.

Safety Features and Trim Levels
If $61,545 sounds steep, it’s because the modern Microbus is no longer intended to be a paragon of basic transport; it’s a well-equipped, nearly luxurious vehicle. Every 2025 ID. Buzz features VW’s IQ.Drive as standard equipment. The safety suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, as well as hands-on semi-autonomous highway driving with automated lane changes. Automated parking is also standard, as are front and rear parking sensors to keep an eye on things if you choose to maneuver the ID. Buzz yourself.
The ID. Buzz rides on 20-inch wheels and features LED exterior lighting with welcome and departure animations. The leather inside may be fake, but even the basic Pro S comes with heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, nine speakers and tri-zone automatic climate control. The sliding side doors and rear liftgate are power-operated, 30-color ambient lighting is standard, and the accelerator and brake pedals have “play” and “pause” symbols on them. The standard infotainment system consists of a 12.9-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio.
Step up to the Pro S Plus and you’ll get a tow hitch receiver, head-up display, 360-degree parking camera and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. With AWD, the Pro S Plus also gets second-row captain’s chairs and a heated windshield.
Available for the 2025 model year only, the 1st Edition gets standard two-tone paint, unique wheels and badging, and a panoramic electrochromic glass roof that changes its opacity at the touch of a button.
A Diverse Palette










Appropriate for an homage to an icon like the Microbus, the ID. Buzz is available in a wide range of bright colors. Two-tone paint combining a white upper body with orange, yellow, green, blue, dark blue, silver or gray lower body is offered, as is a red-and-silver combo. Monotone choices are limited to white, silver and black.
Volkswagen accompanied its pricing announcement with the first images of two of the three available interior color schemes. We had already seen the Dune interior, which is light gray (nearly white) with dark-gray piping on the seats and saddle dash and door trim. Now, VW is giving us a look inside the Copper interior, a black cabin with brown seats, dash and door trim along with yellow piping, as well as the Moonlight interior with its dark-brown seats, dark-blue trim and white piping.

Volkswagen is holding onto one last detail about the 2025 ID. Buzz: its on-sale date. It’s still only saying “later this year.” We’re running out of 2024, though, so your guesses as to the exact day will only get more accurate from here on out.
