By the Numbers
Jeep offers three different engines in the 2026 Wrangler. A 3.6-liter V-6 is standard, and it makes 285 horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque. The optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder generates 270 hp and 295 pounds-feet, while the 6.4-liter V-8 in the range-topping 392 trim levels (so named for the displacement of the V-8 in cubic inches) cranks out a whopping 470 hp and 470 pounds-feet. With the V-6, a six-speed manual transmission is standard. An eight-speed automatic is optional, but only in the four-door Wrangler. If you want an automatic in the two-door SUV, you automatically get the turbo 2.0-liter. The turbo four-cylinder and the V-8 are offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic. There’s only one direct competitor to the Wrangler. Only the Ford Bronco offers a choice of two- and four-door body styles with removable doors and roofs.
