Write a reviewI love my new Impreza!
My prior car was a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta so it was definitely time for an upgrade. My fiance purchased his WRX from Doug Smith in 2009 and has been very happy with it. That made my decision to go with a Subaru that much easier. The 2013 Impreza that I decided to purchase is going to make driving in Utahs ever changing climate that much easier. The picking and purchase of this model was made easier by the salesman, Blaine Brady. He was very attentive to what I was looking for and had exactly what I wanted. He was very personable and easy going. I would recommend buying from Doug Smith Autoplex to everyone I know, I love that it's a family run business.

My second Kia from this place
Everybody loves the smell of a new car. Shopping for one on the other hand is something much less pleasant. Unless you shopping at Doug Smith Kia and your sale person is Mr. Lynn Wightman.. Within a year this was our second purchase from this dealer ship. Everybody there is nice and they don't ,,push ''. Mr. Lynn Wightman is so awesome to work with. He really listens to what we wanted and didn't wanted. He was wonderful thru out this whole process. If you on the market for a new car and you don't want any headache that usually comes with it, save your self a stress and go to Doug Smith Kia. They will treat you as a valued costumer. Living in Draper it's worth of drive even for service and oil change. We highly recommend this car dealer ship. We know were are next car will come from!

No pressure from these guys!
I hadn't purchased a new vehicle in 15 years or so and was quite apprehensive to go thru that process. I was interested in the Crosstrek and Impreza. I talked with Tom Russon before going to the dealership and told him what I wanted. When I arrived, Tom greeted me, showed me a wide variety of both models, the major differences and listened to what I needed and wanted. All with no pressure to buy or no up-selling to a more expensive car. I decided on the Impreza and got the model I wanted at the price and financing I needed, again, with NO PRESSURE to settle for something I didn't want or out of my budget! I was there on a busy afternoon and Tom went above and beyond by personally washing the car and installing the accessories I wanted while we were in closing the purchase. My overall experience was fun and fantastic and I will definitely buy from Doug Smith Autoplex again. ASK FOR TOM RUSSON, you won't regret it!!

Andy was awesome
I was referred to Andy by a family member. He was friendly and he listened to me. I have very specific wants when it comes to car buying. I keep my cars for a VERY long time and wanted to make sure it had all of the things I would be living with for the next 10 years. It seems silly to a lot of dealers I have had experience with, but if it is important to me, then it should be important to them. Andy took the time to find the car that I wanted, with all of the right specs. It took a few days to locate the right car, but once he found it, he even delivered it to me! And he made sure to call me with questions during the process. It was a really nice experience.

Run, run fast and run far far away
From one human being to another, stay away! My father purchased a brand new Subaru Forester, payed extra for a premium extended warranty with all the little extras. Just after 1 year, the engine, rather abruptly with about 3 minutes of warning, threw a rod. The dealership refused to honor any warranty, citing their reason as "2 of the tires were improperly inflated". Despite this I begrudgingly went there for an oil change on my Kia Spectra5, because of their low prices, and drove away. Little did I know they either damaged or failed to latch my hood - as to how I've yet to figure out, you can drop the hood from an inch and a half and it will auto latch, but it was not something I was happy to find out at 70 mph on a busy freeway. Didn't make it down south to the next AF exit when I lost all visibility, and the hood, roof, windshield, and windshield frame were violently smashed, and I was almost killed by the surrounding traffic as I desperately tried to pull over. The total cost of repairs was just under 5,000. A highway patrol officer saw me and pulled over, and was a bit upset that when I had immediately notified Doug Smith management as to the situation, that they didn't think we should have a police/officer filed report - despite that being a legal requirement for damage over 1,000. I didn't end up getting my car back from Doug Smith & their insurance company from the repairs for 2 months, and all, get this, Doug Smith tried to sell me a new car. Pretty sure they're the last place I'd go, even if I was in the market for a new vehicle. Doug himself was somewhat nice, but the other manager was abrupt, somewhat rude, as was their insurance. Not safe to buy from, or safe for basic maintenance

Great Experience
I went into the dealership in American Fork with the idea of test driving Outbacks and Legacys. Tom Russon was very helpful in finding the perfect car for me. While I ran another errand Tom got all of the financing ready for when I came back. Tom also reviewed all the features on the car so that I was familiar with everything before leaving the dealership. His manager Bill Hoeksel also treated me very well. He explained everything thoroughly.

Doug Smith Autoplex Subaru
I talked to the Doug Smith Subaru online dealer Jeff Hardman. He made buying a car one of the best experiences I've ever had. After a few brief emails between Jeff and myself, I had the car I wanted ready for me within a week. The price he quoted was exactly what he gave me when I showed up, with no hidden fees, and he got me exactly what I asked for when trading in my old '99 Camry. I was in an out of the dealership within 2 hours. The best part was that Jeff was very helpful in getting me the car I wanted, and he wasn't pushy or rush me at all. A phenomenal experience in buying my first car.

8 hours is crazy
We recently had quite a terrible experience buying a car. We drove over an hour to look at a Mazda5, and arrived at around 9 AM. We took it for a test drive and it shook some when it got up to high speeds. The salesperson was nice enough and very low pressure, but it was only the second car we had looked at so we decided to go to Orem to look at another car. He told us he would have the mechanics check it out while we were gone. When we got back he told us that it was the tires and if they replaced the tires it should fix the problem. When we started to talk numbers they would not come down even $1 on the price and acted like they were doing us a favor by honoring the price they had listed on KSL. My husband tried to negotiate the price down, but they were unwilling to budge at all. We should have just left at that point, but I had never bought a car from a dealership so I didn?t know if it was ?normal? to not negotiate at all. We signed the papers and paid cash for the car at around 12 PM, and they said it should be about an hour or so to change the tires so we decided to go to lunch. When we got back they said we were ?next in line,? so we decided to go run a few errands. My husband had a prior engagement so at 3 PM he had to leave me there with my 8 month old and my 2 year old. I saw the car exiting the tire shop at about that time and the salesman told me he saw them leaving to put gas in the car. Then an hour later he said asked if we wanted them to vacuum the car. I said no, I just want to go home, and he said that we would be next. So I grabbed my car seats and put them by the door expecting my car to drive up. It didn?t come for another hour, 5PM. I can understand that we had to wait for the tires; I know that they are a big dealership and their service department is probably very busy. But I would expect to be some sort of priority since I just spent over $10,000. I know people spend much more than that on cars all the time, but I didn?t see anyone else waiting there that morning. I DO think that it is completely unacceptable that I had to wait 2 more hours after my car left the tire shop. Again, I don?t expect any special treatment because I have 2 young kids (it?s my fault that I brought them and I?m very lucky that they were AMAZING that day), but what on earth was happening? I feel like they should have washed, vacuumed, and filled up the car as soon as I paid for it, especially if they were waiting for a spot to open up in the shop. I know it takes a while to buy a car, but 8 hours is crazy.

Dear Jessica, I appreciate you taking the time to leave this response about your recent experience with us. I am sorry to hear that you had a much longer than expected wait for your vehicle. Although we do take the time to ensure that all the necessary checks have been completed before you drive the car you purchased off the lot, I wish we would have been able to expedite the process in your behalf. If you could email me any other concerns about your visit that day, I'll be happy to respond directly to you. My email address is: mikesmith@heydoug.net. I will look forward to hearing from you.
