Do not buy from this dealership they have the worst

Do not buy from this dealership they have the worst finance department that you will ever deal with. After waiting four hours, he did not know what he was doing. Made several mistakes on the paperwork that we caught the only thing that we didn’t catch was he talked us into buying a Warranty that was supposed to be for free oil changes and tire rotations however I did not find out until taking my car into the local Chevy dealership that he did not write up the correct warranty therefore we did not have what we pay for. And the sales department is even worse false advertising. We went to get a sale price on a brand new car and paying cash and they informed us that we could not because they wouldn’t get their money from GM if we paid cash we had to finance the car stay clear of this dealership. They are the worst and just don’t believe me read the other reviews. There’s many more that state what I’m saying.

They gave me a fair deal on my trade and discount on a new Tahoe. The upfront sales process was great. The finance department was slow, and made errors of having the wrong VIN and agreed pricing on my paperwork that I caught myself and had them correct- good thing I had taken pictures of the signed deal from the salesmen. Also was pushy on an extended warranty after telling them no 3+ times. But finally got through it.

Do not buy from this dealership they are not honest, they have deceptive practices, false advertising, and fraud. We went in to pay cash for a vehicle, and the sales manager came to us and told us that they would not sell us the vehicle that was advertised online if we paid cash now it did not say that online. When we disputed that he said, could we please help the dealership out and finance it so that they would get money from GM stupidly we did. Four hours later we got with the finance man Carlos Lewis and told him we did not want to buy any maintenance so he gave us a story telling us that he had a policy that would give us free oil changes and tire rotation so we agreed to that thinking that we would save money. I went to freedom Chevrolet yesterday and they called MPP which supposedly we had a maintenance contract and that company told him we had no maintenance contract. He also told a story about trying to sell us the electronics package about a a toy fell under mother seat, and the seat no longer worked and if she would’ve had the electronics package that it would have been covered. So stupidly we bought what we thought was an electronics package and also asking the dealership if that was true they called MPP and said if a claim was made, they would have to prove that it was not my fault. I sent an email to Carlos have not received one back telling him how disappointed I was that he lied to us and sold us a $5500 package that we can’t even use. When I called today his mailbox was full. Imagine that he’s probably getting so many complaints. He doesn’t even answer his emails. I called to ask for the sales manager and of course I got his voicemail. I’m going to turn them over to the Texas Attorney General, Texas Department of motor vehicle dealer, sales, national automobile, dealers association, and I’m even going to contact GM to let them know what they’re deceptive practices are when you want to pay cash. This dealership is bad news. I hope you take this to heart. 😡🤬

What a joke, Vandergriff has had (2) people contact me on this and they are about as dependable as the dealership not at all. I am hoping anyone that even thinks about spending their money at Vandergriff takes the time to read the reviews I wish we would have then we would not have wasted our time driving 2 hours. THIS IS FOR FUTURE CUSTOMERS IF YOU DECIDE TO MAKE A PURCHASE AND I REPEAT MYSELF DO NOT I WILL SAY IT AGAIN DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED THAT THE PAPERWORK IS GOING TO BE CORRECT. THE FINANCE GUY MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES AND HAD TO REDO THE CONTRACTS SEVERAL TIMES LOOKING AT THE PAPERWORK AGAIN HE MARKED THAT WE BOUGHT A TRUCK HAHA IT IS A EQUINOX HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS A CAR OR TRUCK. AND COME TO FIND OUT HE WROTE THE WRONG CONTRACT ON WHAT WE THOUGHT WE WERE BUYING WAS A MAINTENCANCE CONTRACT IT WAS NOT HE DOESNT EVEN KNOW HIS CONTRACTS HE IS WRITING. AND WITH MY RESEARCH WHAT THEY DID TO US MAKING US FINANCE THE CAR SO WE COULD GET THE $6000 DISCOUNT IS CALLED "FORCED FINANCING" AND THAT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!!

I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply

I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply troubling experience my spouse and I had at your dealership on August 18, 2025. The level of disrespect and disregard we received from both our salesperson, and his sales manager was entirely unacceptable and has resulted in us questioning whether we were treated differently because of the color of our skin. We arrived with two fully verifiable credit union checks, including one in the amount of $75,000, yet both were dismissed simply because we chose not to finance through GM(for double the interest). Prior to arriving, we were assured over the phone that the check from our credit union would be accepted and that the transaction could be completed without issue. Once at the dealership, however, we were told the check would be refused and the reasoning continued to change each time we asked for clarification. Not only did my spouse have to leave without the vehicle he has worked so hard and saved for, but we also sacrificed our time leaving work early and paying for transportation based entirely on your team’s reassurance that we would be taken care of upon arrival. To be blunt, this felt like a complete slap in the face. No customer should walk away from a dealership wondering if they were denied service because of the color of their skin, and that is now a very real concern for us. At this point, we are formally requesting that this matter be escalated to upper management and that we receive a detailed explanation regarding why we were treated in this manner and why our verified credit union checks were refused. “ When will this world finally see us as people and not reduce us to the color of our skin? It hurt me so deeply to watch my spouse who works so hard, saved, and built his credit to go through this.”
